# Star Hawk's Spiral Dance Sat. Oct. 30
The 25th Silver Anniversary of The Spiral Dance a ritual to honor our
beloved dead and dance the spiral of rebirth
Sat Oct 30 at Herbst Pavilion in Fort Mason Center, San Francisco.
Doors open at 6:30PM and the ritual begins at 7:30 PM. Admission is
$15-$50, sliding scale, no one turned away for lack of funds
What is the Spiral Dance?
The holiday popularly known as Halloween is the time of year known to
witches as Samhain, when the veil is thin between the worlds of the
living and the dead. We gather to remember and honor our ancestors, our
Beloved Dead, and all those who have crossed over. As we mourn for
those we love who have died this year, we also mourn the losses and
pain suffered by the Earth, our Mother. Yet even as we grieve we also
remember and honor the sacred cycle of life, death, rebirth and
regeneration, celebrating the births of our children born this year,
and our own vital connections to the Earth and each other, in which we
ground our hope. more...
Come early to hear live music and view the altars

# Thu, Nov 4 7:30 pm ANSWER Film Series: "Incident at Oglala: the Leonard
Peltier Story"
ATA 992 Valencia St. at 21st http://atasite.org
In 1974, two FBI agents were killed in a gun battle on the Pine Ridge
reservation. Leonard Peltier, a leader of the American Indian Movement
(AIM) was falsely convicted of the murders, although critical evidence
proved his innocence. Peltier's arrest and trial were politically
motivated shams. This exciting documentary reconstructs events
surrounding the incident, highlighting the overwhelming FBI repression
and atmosphere of government terror on the reservation. It also shows
the viewer the brave efforts of American Indians like Peltier to
organize and fight back. Free Leonard Peltier!
